Bizarre run of ill health continues

Well, a pretty lousy week is drawing to a close. I was feeling a touch fluey at the Greg Shaw nutrition seminar on Wednesday night but just thought it was a 24 hour head cold. Boy, was I wrong! Five days later, I'm still in pretty ordinary condition and have not run since Tuesday.

On Friday afternoon, still ridden with the flu, I became aware that an area the size of a 10c piece on the middle of my nose was becoming extremely sensitive. Twelve hours later I had to get up in the middle of the night to crush some ice in a towel and put it on my nose to reduce the increasingly uncomfortable throbbing. The only possible explanation for this disaster was that MJ had elbowed me in the nose on Thursday night and I had slept right through it!! Gees, those Army Reservists throw a mean elbow!! Saturday at work was pretty miserable with the flu still in force, but I was having a rethink about my nose - perhaps MJ was not the culprit after all. After speaking to lots of people about my condition, it became apparent that I had a major sinus issue. I've never had a bloody sinus issue in my life, let alone a major one!! No wonder I thought it was a stray elbow. I was all set to visit the doctor this morning, but made at least 30% improvement overnight after a 10hr sleep and am continuing to improve. I think I'll be about 90% tomorrow after a good sleep.

My health issues this year are really vexing me - if this sinus issue raises its ugly head(or should that be nose) again, then it looks like an appointment with an Ear Nose Throat specialist is in order. Hopefully my annual flu jab tomorrow will be of some assistance.

Hopefully you'll be over all these virus issues once and for all now Matty. Still keep an eye out for MJ's mean elbow jab though.

Actually if you are run down now Matty and have your flu jab you will be very prone to getting the full force of it.

The flu jab is usually only recommended (as useful) to eldery or immuno suppressed persons where the Flu could prove detrimental to health or even life threatening.

As a young pup you won't get much benefit. However you should get your sinus checked out. Maybe not running is making you sick????
