An uneventful 8k's on the tready to start my day - part of the 36k's planned for this week.
Hugely busy weekend looming with two shifts at work to fit in somewhere around a punting day I'm hosting at SportsCentre for twelve of the boys on Golden Slipper Day. Named in honour of Wallaby great, John Eales who ran a similar punting day for his mates, the day will feature every contestant placing $1 a win on every single horse race in Sydney, Brisbane and Melbourne. The winner walks away with the 'Ealesy', a 30cm trophy of a lock jumping to take a ball in a lineout, but will have to return the trophy next year to defend his title. All going well, the Ealesy will become an annual event on Golden Slipper Day that grows in prestige over the years. Oh yeah, I have to squeeze in a 13k long run before the Ealesy Day and a Broncos game straight afterwards! And....loving it!!!
