Ducked out of work at lunchtime and had my best run in a long time, getting green lights all the way from Breakfast Creek to Wickham Tce in the City, where I saw Broncos doctor, Dr Friis at the Private Hospital. Dr Friis pronounced all my vitals unremarkable and in good shape and speculated that my chest fluttering complaint could have been caused by twitching muscles for one thing. He said it was not out of the ordinary for a virus to hang around as long as it has for me and has sent me away for the obligatory blood test which I will get done tomorrow morning instead of attending the 3KTT. Dr Friis concluded that the horse had probably bolted as far as my virus is concerned and that I am over the worst. Dr Friis advised me to pay close attention to my HR during running and recovery explaining how it could enhance my comeback and ensure that I don't overdo it.
Whilst I didn't get a great deal out of this visit as far as my present condition is concerned, I was impressed by Dr Friis nonetheless and it will be good to have a Sports Physician on the burgeoning roll call of medical specialists on Team Matty.
Felt better today overall than I have in a week. Will try some core strengthening work tomorrow night and hopefully have a crack at some running on Thursday. Time is already running out for the Gold Coast Marathon!

"Dr Friis pronounced all my vitals unremarkable" .... I'm not saying a thing :-)
Good news Matty. Maybe that crack at running on Thursday can be at the PCRG.
